We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and self-motivated Senior Occupational Therapist (Level 11) to work with our Review Team to ensure the people we support receive proportionate care. The role entails ensuring that people receive the right level of care to meet their needs. It involves assessing people receiving home care with the aim of increasing people’s independence through provision of aids and adaptations that reduce the need for home care and support people to carry out their activities of daily living.
The main targeted groups are:
- People with large existing packages of home care
- People being discharged from hospital with packages of home care
- People going from home to extra-care facilities
To carry out the role you will require:
- A wide range of experience of using equipment and adaptations to allow a proportionate level of home care.
- You will also need to demonstrate a high level of communication and persuasive skill when working with people who may have been having carers for some time, and with care agencies and other professionals.
- You will also need good IT skills and have a commitment to Continued Professional Development.
- With a degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy, state registration with the Health & CareProfessions Council (HCPC), post-qualification experience in a clinical setting and some experience in Social Care, you will carry an active caseload of service users with eligible needs.
- Peer supervision, advice and management supervision will be readily available and you will contribute to promoting the Occupational Therapy service.
For more information or to discuss the posts, please contact Peter Ball, Service Manager, on 01782 237146.
Please note that if an employee who is currently at risk of redundancy within the organisation applies for this vacancy their application will receive priority. If this happens you will be advised accordingly.
