Stoke-on-Trent City Council is recruiting to the newly created post of Head of Waste Services.
The successful candidate will lead and direct the Council’s operational activities in relation to Waste Services, contributing to making Stoke-on-Trent a great place to live, work and visit.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- The management of waste through minimisation, diversion, reuse and recycling in accordance with the Waste Hierarchy and the council’s Corporate Strategy
- Adherence to and implementation of reforms to the recycling system as outlined in Government Legislation ‘Simpler Recycling’
- Efficient and effective waste management, maximising available resource and taking the lead on developing resources and infrastructure as necessary
