Did you know that there is a community partnership that works to improve
over a dozen local railway stations and promote rail travel? North Staffs
Community Rail Partnership receives core funding from the rail industry and
local authorities and also seeks grants for specific projects. It looks after a
large, dedicated team of volunteers, who help transform our local stations into
places that are safe and pleasant to use.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council hosts the partnership, working alongside
neighbouring local authorities and train operating companies. We wish to
recruit a partnership officer to join our team. Based in Stoke-on-Trent, but
with the opportunity for flexible working, we would love to hear from you if
you feel you have what it takes to help our partnership continue to flourish.
You will need to commit to a minimum of 3.5 days per week and to be willing to
work sometimes outside normal office hours, including very occasional weekends.
You will need to be able to manage your time well as you will be helping to
co-ordinate a busy programme, which will include everything from supporting our
volunteer team and managing projects, to bidding for funding, and arranging meetings.
You will report back regularly to the Partnership Board. There will be a mix of
working alone and working with the wider team. It is often a very ‘hands-on’
job also, with plenty of time spent at our local stations around Staffordshire
and South Cheshire.
