We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified social worker to join our Family and Adolescent Support Team (FAST).

The team supports both children on the edge of the care, completing assessments and leading child in need, child protection and cared for children's plans and specialist assessments for children identified as able to return home to family from care.

If you’re a dedicated, passionate and enthusiastic Social Worker with experience of making a difference to the lives of children and young people we want to hear from you. We are looking for people who have a genuine interest in relationship-based practice and a strengths-based approach to building effective relationships with children, families, communities and partner agencies. These ways of working are being embedded through our Restorative Practice Approach that is being rolled out across Children’s Services. Our team ethos is to safely support children and young people to live with their family and deliver intensive direct work based on research and evidence based approaches. You will be offered relevant training to deliver this work and have a smaller caseload of children to work intensively with the family. There is regular supervision offered to you as the allocated worker and there will be psychological input within the supervision framework.

Previous experience of edge of care or reunification work would be beneficial.

The team work out of hours in the evening until 9pm and at the weekend and therefore flexibility of working hours is required.

If you would like to discuss this post further please contact 01782 234970 and request to speak to a manager.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all our employees and volunteers to share this commitment.  This position is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful applicant will be subject to a criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
