great full time job opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and dynamic Senior
Planning Officer to join the council’s Planning Policy Team.
JOB
DESCRIPTION
Stoke-on-Trent
City Council is now starting work on preparing a new Local Plan for the City.
Key duties and responsibilities for this post will be to prepare and manage the
production of evidence based documents; preparation and development of the
Local Plan and supporting documents; acting as an expert witness at public
examination and hearing sessions; providing specialist advice on planning
applications and aiding the delivery of corporate projects.
PERSON
SPECIFICATION
Applicants
need to have an RTPI recognised degree in town planning or equivalent and be
able to demonstrate they have the experience and specialist expertise in the
production of policy documents and delivery of specialist policy advice. Along
with a sound knowledge of planning legislation and best practice the successful
candidate will need to have the ability to manage and deliver work to demanding
timescales and be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written
communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary
team.
