We are
increasing our bank of Tutors at Adult and Community Learning, providing
exciting opportunities to join us and make a difference to the lives of our
Stoke-on-Trent residents.
Community Learning plays a vital role in supporting people on their journey to employment,
progression, creativity, improve mental health and much more! Completing
a course or workshop with us helps to reduce loneliness and makes people
happier, healthier, more confident, capable and resilient.
Are you a
Tutor wanting to make a difference for a few hours a week? Do you have a
subject area you want to teach but haven’t been given the opportunity? We want
to increase our range of diverse subject areas, so if you have experience of
any of the following subjects, or have a different subject to offer, we want to
hear from you!

With extensive knowledge, understanding and experience of qualitative delivery
of adult learning, successful applicants will:
- Hold a relevant teaching qualification such as DTLLS, PGCE or Cert Ed
- To have a minimum of level 4 qualification and/or demonstrate occupational competence in your specialist subject area
- Demonstrate experience in teaching, learning and assessment in adult learning
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the
creativity to plan and deliver innovative sessions. You will be committed to
your learners, making marked progress in their confidence, wellbeing, learning
and careers.
Courses vary in length and run during term-time throughout the week, daytime
and evenings from our main learning site at our Employment and Skills
Hub in Tunstall and at community venues across the city of
Stoke-on-Trent.
This post is casual, and work in the casual pool is
not guaranteed. You are not under obligation to take up the offer of work
and we are not under obligation to provide work. Hours offered will be as and
when required and subject to demand.
