This is a fixed term post for 2 years.
We are looking for an individual, with proven experience in the field of business tourism and sales, to undertake the redevelopment and then ongoing operational management of the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Convention Bureau.
The Convention Bureau is being remodelled and redesigned to support the delivery and significant growth of Business Tourism across the economic area, as part of the recently and newly formed Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Local Visitor Economy Partnership's growth plans.
The post holder will provide a high quality, professional and effective conference promotion and enquiry service, including management of the new website and social media.
Dealing with initial enquiry handling, liaison with conference organisers and member venues, through the development of propositions and securing business tourism across Staffordshire venues.
The role will be responsible for managing relationships between public and private businesses, major external key clients and organisations, nationwide travel agencies, tour operators and local authority partners, in order to increase levels of membership of the Convention Bureau and to build partnerships with Conventions Bureau partners, members and buyers.
There will also be a requirement to attend relevant trade shows in the UK.
