This post is a Fixed-Term for 18 months.
The Department for Transport have awarded Stoke-on-Trent City Council over £40m since 2023, for investment into the bus network, with four key targets of improving reliability, punctuality, number of passengers carried and customer satisfaction.
To ensure that we can demonstrate the impact of the measures introduced, we are looking to recruit a Monitoring and Evaluation officer. This post is key to coordinating and reporting the results of this investment. The post holder will be required to review the before data, organise and support the collection of new data and evaluate the results.
The results will be reported to our partners to evidence the benefits from this investment, showing the improvements across the bus network with bus priority through traffic signal technology, increased enforcement of on street restrictions, improving the bus stop area and accessibility for passengers.
We are looking for someone with experience of reviewing data, interpreting and understanding the data in order that the results can be communicated to a variety of audiences confidently in different formats.
You should have the ability to build relationships with ease across a wide range of people including local authorities, bus companies and similar partners, including the Department for Transport representatives.
This is a fixed term post for 18 months, however if we are successful in receiving further funding, there will be an opportunity to extend it.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and busy team, who are keen to demonstrate the impact that major funding investment has in our city and on our network.
Please note that if an employee who is currently at risk of redundancy within the organisation applies for this vacancy their application will receive priority. If this happens you will be advised accordingly.

We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees – a place where we can all be ourselves and succeed together.
