IT Infrastructure and Support Technician
£29,093 per annum
Grade 7, Spinal Point 15, Whole year round
37 hours per week Monday - Friday

Under the direction of senior staff effectively support the operation and development of the school’s ICT infrastructure and network including its external partners. you will travel between sites to provide on-site support and guidance on system developments, assist with the implementation of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, advise staff and managers on basic IT issues, and respond to IT support tickets submitted through the IT helpdesk.
The role will include managing the following areas;
Support to Pupils and staff;
• Provide pupil user support in relation to the IT systems in conjunction with teaching staff.
• Produce support and instructional documentation for staff and students as appropriate.
• To support teaching staff in the general running of the ICT rooms to ensure lessons are efficiently and effectively serviced.
Line Management;
• May involve line management responsibility of staff.
• May Involve undertaking training/mentoring of staff.
Support for ICT Systems;
• Setup, manage and maintain user accounts
• Setup, manage and maintain staff and student user shared areas
• Provide technical support for the school’s management system.
• Manage, software installations, hardware maintenance, upgrades, fault diagnosis and repair, security measures and back-up schedule.
• Design and implement network infrastructure to meet the school’s requirements
• Managing active network components including switches routers, access points, printers,
• Setup manage and maintain servers and upgrade network operating systems.
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all ICT equipment and software in the school.
• Maintain the schools AV systems.
Support for Resources;
• Supervise loans of ICT/AV equipment.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained and stored safely.
• Observe and report any damage or conditions of equipment which need attention.
• Remove any equipment which presents a health and safety risk.
• To keep abreast of, and conversant with, all relevant legislation, technological developments and techniques.
